  • Adrift

    $70.00

    Adrift

    $70.00

Adrift is a dreamy, fantastical plating option. Each piece is handmade, and no two are the same. The leaf platform provides a showstopper backdrop for nigiri, caprese or dumplings. This piece may not be stacked, but you’ll want to leave it out when not in service. A grouping of Adrifts becomes an armada of whimsy. The engraving on Adrift mean sauce stays where you put it, with a variegated green gloss glaze.

Adrift is a limited edition, and when out of stock, will not be reproduced.

  • Artichoke Vessels

    $145.00

    Artichoke Vessels

    $145.00

Artichokes are meant to be enjoyed in their full stemmed glory, and the modern experience of just throwing them down on a plate, circumcised of their stem, leaves something to be desired. These vessels allow you to keep as much as a 5″ stem on your artichoke (or not, it will be fine without one). The vessel gives you ample room for a broth or sauce directly in front of you, allowing less distance for the dripping we all know is going to happen, because gravity. Rather than looking for room on the plate to stow discarded leaves, this provides a deep well for all the detrius, while keeping the choke itself elevated above it. The dish is large enough to have a presence at the table and during presentation, but light enough its easy to carry with one hand. More importantly, these dishes simply do not exist elsewhere- there are no artichoke dishes.

  • Black and White Pinched Bud Vases

Black and White Pinched Bud Vases

These chunky hand-pinched shapes are meant to exaggerate the long green stem placed in them and the color of the buds themselves. Imagine a row of magenta gerber daisies or even delicate pink peonies. These vases run in size from 3-5″ tall and 2-4″ across, each between .5 and 1lb. White glaze over black wash leaves the fingerprints that made the pots visible and part of the form. Buy separately or as a group. These were the last pieces of red clay I touched this summer as I contemplated my first collection, and they have my heart. I hope they’ll have yours.

    Cumulus Bowl

    $52.00

These quirky bowls were inspired by cloud patterns. They look tipsy, but always come back to center. Fill them with crushed ice and oysters on the halfshell, or salad (but no kale- kale is horrible) or a bowl of ramen. It would look delightful full of lemons you’ll never use, resting on a coffee table, but the unglazed exterior begs to be held. Each is one of a kind.

  • Dark Clay Candles

    $40.00$90.00

    Dark Clay Candles

    $40.00$90.00

Each of these vessels was wheel thrown, and then washed with black oxide and glazed just around the rims, with metallic glazes that actually glitter. Each candle was hand poured using pure soy and palm wax, and pure essential oils. We developed two scents, perfect for winter. Tangerine & Eucalptus blends so well that its hard to decipher what’s in it, but we think it smells like sunshine and has a yellow tint to match. You’ll bury your nose in it and inhale frequently, without even lighting it. Lemongrass & Cedarwood has a heady citrus, with the deep undertone of winter- snow and fires and the way the wind sounds as it whips dry leaves around. Either scent will lift you up when it gets dark at 4pm, and the palm wax helps throw the scent particularly well, filling your house with the soft nose of essential oils.

  • Divot

    Divot

    $26.00

Divot is ideal anytime a dish needs a pinch of something-that tiny bit of fresh grated wasabi you’d serve with sashimi- or the chili flakes you’d serve on the side. Or maybe some maldon salt, or grated ginger and radish on the side of hiyayakko. The dark oceany glaze flashes black and blues, and is a good gloss. Divot stacks 3 high, is dishwashable and an easy plate to serve. Even with a curved base it sits solidly on the table, holding about 3.5oz and .5 oz of condiment and is dishwashable.

Divot is made to order, production time is 6-8 weeks.
