New Star is a double walled bowl, originally conceived for the rice course in kaiseki. The double wall retains heat or cold, insulating the food. The texture causes everyone to pick up the bowl and examine it after. They were meant to inspire thoughts of galaxies and cosmos, explosions. In satin white, each detail picks up the light. In satin black, details are mysterious, with users feeling out each note. The bowl itself fits perfectly in your hand, with a good weight. Each piece is painstakingly made by hand, no two are alike, but are all familial. these pieces may be stacked three-four high.
